Pain Management

Tennessee Orthopedics specializes in Pain Management and treats individuals who suffer from acute and chronic pain. The cause of pain is specific to each unique patient. Therefore, we firmly believe that good pain management begins with a good diagnosis. Our approach is a multidisiplinary one; we consider the patient's total medical condition and emotional well-being.

Some of the acute and chronic conditions that we treat are:

·        Headache

·        Joint pain

·        Rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis

·        Cancer pain

·        Shingles

·        Pain from chronic peripheral vascular insufficiency

·        Myofascial pain and fibromyalgia

·        RSD and chronic pain from nerve damage

·        Chronic pain from sports and athletic injuries

·        Chronic pain from work-related and automobile injuries

·        Chronic pain from unsuccessful surgery

Bearing in mind that each patient requires a customized treatment plan, many of the following pain management treatments are done in the comfort of our office, while others consist of "minimally-invasive surgical procedures" done under x-ray guidance. Treatments offered by our Pain Management team include:

·        Physical medicine and the physical therapies

·        Pharmacological therapy and psychotherapy

·        Biofeedback

·        Trigger point injections

·        Nerve blocks

·        Major joint injections

·        Epidural injection of the spine

·        Facet joint injection

·        Neuroablation of chemical and radiofrequency means

·        Implantation of permanent catheters/pumps and spinal cord simulators
