Dr. Jon Cornelius
Sports Medicine & Joint Replacement Surgery
Dr. Jon Cornelius earned his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine. He then completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Michigan State University in Grand Rapids, MI. Following residency, Dr. Cornelius spent a fellowship year at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, studying Sports Medicine and Joint Replacement Surgery.
Dr. Cornelius specializes in Sports Medicine disorders, including arthroscopic reconstruction of the shoulder and knee. Dr. Cornelius also has a special interest in joint replacements of the shoulder, hip, and knee, offering minimally invasive, partial replacement, and alternative joint surfaces. In addition, he also treats all types of orthopedic trauma.
Dr. Cornelius is a diplomat of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Arthroscopy Association of North America, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, Health Volunteers Overseas and Orthopaedics Overseas. Dr. Cornelius joined Tennessee Orthopedics in September 2009, and sees patients at their Lebanon office.
Dr. Cornelius and his family reside in Wilson County. He enjoys cycling, spending time on the water, traveling with his family, and medical mission trips, which have taken him to remote regions in Africa. However, his favorite pastime is spending time with his wife and their son.
